The Gunner Cricket Championships took place at Larkhill and Tidworth on the 17th and 18th of May this year. We were very lucky with the weather in that it did not rain however it was certainly time to pull out the long sleeved sweater!

Inspections at ACA Aldershot and the three other grounds available to the tournament delivered a very sombre result. All are waterlogged and none would be fit for play before Friday. In addition, further heavy rain is forecast tomorrow and on Thursday. In the last 24 hours, around 25 mm of rain fell on the ACA ground, Aldershot; the other grounds fared little better.

Farnborough met is predicting another two days of similar rainfall. Consequently, the Secretary ACA and the Match Referee had no other choice than to abandon the tournament. It is hoped that, with the co-operation of the Corps, the tournament can be re-scheduled to early September.

Further information will be posted as soon as it is available.
